4 Provision of the Website, Server Logs and Hosting
When you use our website for information purposes only, that is, when you do not otherwise transmit information to us, we collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server. When you view our website or download one of the documents provided there (such as PDF files), we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to ensure its stability and security:
- IP address of your device,
- date and time of the request,
- time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT),
- content of the request (specific page or file),
- access status/HTTP status code,
- amount of data transferred in each case,
- website from which the request originates (referrer),
- browser,
- operating system and its interface,
- language and version of the browser software.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technical provision of the website and in ensuring its stability and security, including the detection and defence against attacks. The server logs are deleted after [insert period], unless a specific security incident requires individual entries to be retained for longer.
Our website does not use cookies or comparable technologies that store or read information on your device. A consent dialogue is therefore not required. We do not embed any content, fonts, scripts or maps from third-party providers; all components of the website are delivered from our own web server. We do not use any analytics, statistics or marketing services.
Our website is operated by an external hosting provider; the servers are located in Germany.
The provider processes the data mentioned above on our behalf on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. We have commissioned a web agency with the technical maintenance of our website, which also acts for us on this basis.
Data is transmitted between your browser and our website in encrypted form via TLS (recognisable by the "https" prefix and the padlock symbol in your browser). We also use appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
5 General Contact by E-mail, Telephone, Fax or Post
On our website you will find our e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers and our postal address. We do not offer a contact form. When you click on an e-mail or telephone link, only the corresponding application on your device opens; no data is transmitted to us at that point.
When you contact us, we process the data you provide (in particular your name, contact details and the content of your message) in order to handle and answer your enquiry. Providing further data is voluntary.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR insofar as your enquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in answering the enquiries addressed to us.
For the operation of our e-mail systems we use Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) of Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland, as a processor. This may involve processing in third countries; we inform you about this in section 7.
Please note that the confidentiality of an unencrypted e-mail cannot be fully guaranteed in transit. For confidential communications we recommend using the postal service or contacting us by telephone first.
We delete the data processed in connection with an enquiry as soon as it is no longer required for handling the enquiry and no statutory retention obligations (in particular under commercial and tax law) stand in the way. The standard period is [insert period].
If your enquiry develops into a business relationship, we will also process your data for the purpose of conducting that relationship; we will inform you about this separately.
6 Recipients and Disclosure to Third Parties
Within our company, only those departments that need your data to fulfil the purposes stated above have access to it.
In addition, we use carefully selected external service providers who process your data on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions (processors pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR). These are our hosting provider, the provider of our e-mail systems and the web agency that provides technical support for our website.
Beyond this, we only disclose your personal data to third parties if:
- you have given your express consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR,
- the disclosure is necessary pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest worthy of protection in your data not being disclosed,
- there is a legal obligation to disclose pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR, or
- this is legally permissible and necessary pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for the performance of contractual relationships with you.
7 Transfers to Third Countries
When you visit our website itself, no data is transferred to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.
In the case of communication by e-mail (section 5), the provider Microsoft used by us may also process personal data outside the European Economic Area or access it from there; in particular, processing in the USA may occur. We base this transfer on the adequacy decision of the European Commission on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework insofar as the provider is certified under it, and otherwise on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR) together with supplementary safeguards. You can request a copy of the safeguards via the contact details given in sections 1 and 2.
Please note that a level of data protection equivalent to European law cannot be guaranteed in third countries and, in particular, that governmental access to the data cannot be ruled out in the same way.
8 Retention Period
We store personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes stated or as required by statutory retention obligations. Information on retention periods can be found under the respective processing operation in this notice. Once the purpose no longer applies and the retention obligations have expired, the data is deleted.
9 Automated Decision-Making
No automated decision-making, including profiling (Art. 22 GDPR), takes place in connection with this website or with your contacting us.
10 Obligation to Provide Data
You are neither legally nor contractually obliged to provide us with personal data when visiting this website. Without the technical data mentioned in section 4, however, the website cannot be delivered. Without your contact details, we cannot answer an enquiry.
11 Changes to this Privacy Notice
We will amend this privacy notice if the legal situation, our website or the services used change.
The version published on this page with the date stated above applies.
